Ask Dr.
Universe a question you've always wondered about. Remember, Dr. Universe
tackles all questions, not just science. She has a whole campus of
experts to call on, experts in just about everything. From global
warming to neural networks. From Jane Austen to soil nematodes. From
cow belching to quasars. And remember -- the university is just about
the only place left that still employs philosophers. So Dr. Universe
can tackle the really big questions.
But
... we're experiencing OVERLOAD!

I
am getting hundreds and hundreds of questions every week. Thats
great! Your curiosity is wonderful! HOWEVER, I just cant
answer every question. I am trying my very best to answer as many
questions as I can. I am also working hard on revising this Web
site so I can help you answer many of your questions yourselves.
Meanwhile, if you need the answer to a question
for the homework thats due tomorrow, Im afraid I wont be much help. But
REMEMBER, maybe Ive answered your question before. Be sure to check both the
archives ("Find a Question") and "Featured Questions" (click
on "Previous Questions").
Also, some of your questions can be answered by a
good encyclopedia or other reference work. My favorite encyclopedia is the
Encyclopedia Britannica, available online, for free, at www.britannica.com.
Finally, dont forget about your librarian. One
of a librarians main jobs is to help you find answers to your questions.
And hold on. Once we do some more work on this
Web site, I think youre going to find it very helpful.
But for now, the kind of question that grabs my
attention is one that youve been thinking about for a long time and just cant
find the answer to. Youve looked everywhere. Youve asked your teacher. Youve
asked your friends. Youve asked your mom and dad. And everyone says,
"Wow, good question!" And so will I.
So keep asking
good questions!
Dr.
